Challenging Terrain

Today I did my first training, on part of the coastal path that is graded as severe, and it was challenging in many ways. As I negotiated the ups and downs, rocks, crevaces and the odd level stretch, I thought how much like our paths in life, it is. Parts that are easy and beautiful, some stretches that require careful negotaiating, others where small bridges have been made, and narrow tracks lined with yellow flowering gorse bushes.

Many beautiful wild spring flowers, including bright yellow iris and, my favourite, bluebells. It was a spectacular stretch of coastline, with streams of clear water tumbling down here and there, rocky cliffs, jagged headlands, gorse lined narrow tracks and all kinds of wildlife. Felt truly blessed to see a large pod of dolphins and then a seal Met some lovely people too, so athough was physically challenging all in all a very blessed day.
